The cathedral is 0.1 mile interior. The tower to the rt is 30 stories high, the left is 20 stories high. It is made of limestone set, stone upon stone. There are no supporting beams in the Cathedral.

Count the FLYING BUTRESSES..thses are the supports for the high walls of the Cathedral. They pressagainst the walls like bookends, providin support.

the intricate work of the carved arches ..when you note the different shade, this is how the camera picked up the color in the limestone..and there were lights everywhere, making this a diffucult shoot..also no tripods allowed..

Abraham Lincoln is honored here and Woodrow Wilson is buried in the Cathedral. There are about 190 crypts below the Cathedral, two of them we know. Helen Keller and her teacher.
